On-Demand Electric Utility Damage AssessorsNorPro, LLC. is looking for candidates with electric utility experience to support damage assessment duties during large storm events. Damage assessment is a useful activity for identifying damage caused by severe weather and is an important step toward effective restoration. Duties & Requirements: Candidates must have knowledge of distribution electric construction and its components, as well as electric safety. Identification and categorization of equipment damage and specific location. Assess severity of wire down conditions, standby downed power lines until relieved by a Wire Guard. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in utility distribution or transmission systems (Journeyman Linemen, Engineers, or operations) Must be physically capable of walking out power line right of way under various weather and terrain conditions as described in the above position description. Field Construction Manager (FCM)Perform field quality assurance / quality control checks of contractor installations and restorations. Be the Client Representative and main point of contact for electric engineering, material management, line operations, electric contractor and customers for resolving open issues. Responsibilities Include: Provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment, and systems of work for self and all employees, and to participate in training as needed for this purpose. Construction Manager (Substation, Distribution, Transmission)Responsible for developing (participating in recruitment, vetting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding), managing, and overseeing Site Supervision as they coordinate the daily activities and assigned work at various customer locations to assure high standards of safety and quality compliance delivering an on-time, within budget service. Responsibilities Include: Provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment, and systems of work for self and all employees, and to participate in training as needed for this purpose Responsible for performance of Site Supervision on projects for the construction and commissioning of distribution, transmission, and substation projects. Match resource needs (training, experience, travel, etc.…) to available skill sets and abilities for optimal use of resources through a good working knowledge of assigned Site Supervision Proactively identify where demand for resource cannot be met internally, due to capacity or skill constraints. Work to shape teams against forecasted requirements through personal development and/or strategic hiring. Manage performance of outsourced companies to ensure adherence to safety, quality, schedules, budgets, cost effective means and methods. Develop, review, and evaluate contracts and agreements affecting the project execution and functional area operations and make appropriate recommendations. Lead resolution in a timely manner to proactively resolve issues and coordinate activities with all parties. Ensure that construction management is integrated into the planning, initiating executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing of all projects - this will include schedule management, cost tracking, construction, installation, sequencing and testing and commissioning, and acceptance activities. Ensure all Site Supervision is managing the project and construction resources within the schedule and budget. Coordinate with Project Management in obtaining all construction materials and material handling plans are established and properly managed and reported. Document and publish daily and weekly construction reports to the PM, customer, or contractor, as required.
